The Future of Rowing

Juniors

Our Junior Crew is where young rowers take their first strokes toward becoming skilled athletes. Open to rowers aged 12 to 18, this program focuses on developing essential rowing techniques, water confidence, and teamwork. Juniors are introduced to both sweep and sculling disciplines, ensuring a well-rounded foundation in the sport.

Beyond training, our junior rowers have opportunities to compete in local, regional, and national regattas, gaining valuable race experience and building lifelong friendships. For those looking to pursue rowing seriously, we offer pathways to higher levels of competition, including university teams and national squads. However, we also welcome juniors who simply want to enjoy being on the water in a fun and supportive environment.
Competitive and Driven

Seniors

The Senior Crew is at the heart of our competitive rowing program, bringing together dedicated athletes who train rigorously to compete at the highest levels. Whether racing in single sculls, doubles, quads, or sweep boats, our senior rowers push their physical and mental limits to achieve peak performance.

Training includes a mix of on-water sessions, strength training, and endurance work, all guided by experienced coaches. Our seniors regularly compete in Irish and international regattas, representing New Ross Boat Club with pride. With a strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork, this crew is ideal for those looking to challenge themselves, improve their technique, and race at a competitive level.

Rowing for Life

Masters

Rowing isn’t just for the young—our Masters Crew welcomes rowers aged 27 and older, offering a fantastic way to stay active, competitive, and engaged in the sport. Whether you’re a former competitor returning to rowing, a recreational rower looking for fitness and social engagement, or someone discovering rowing for the first time, our Masters program provides the perfect environment.

Training sessions focus on technique, endurance, and flexibility, catering to a wide range of abilities and goals. Some of our Masters compete in national and international regattas, while others row purely for enjoyment and the benefits of staying fit on the water. No matter your reason for rowing, our Masters Crew offers a welcoming and supportive community to keep you motivated.
